Microsoft has adjusted Xbox Series X and S pricing across Europe and the UK, with increases reaching €200 on select models and £170 in Britain.

The changes took effect August 1 following a June announcement tied to storage and memory component costs rising more than 2.5 times. Official Xbox pricing lists now show the 1TB Series X disc model at €799.99 (was €599.99) and the UK equivalent at £669.99 (was £499.99), while the 1TB digital version sits at €749.99 / £619.99. Lower-capacity Series S units also moved up, landing the 512GB model at €499.99 / £429.99.

Microsoft cited the broader consumer electronics components crisis and noted consoles are typically sold below cost. Earlier Xbox executive comments referenced the need for "radically different business models" amid rising hardware expenses. Community discussion on forums and social channels has highlighted the scale of the jumps relative to launch pricing from six years prior.

The adjustments coincide with anticipation around major upcoming releases, though no direct sales impact data has been released yet.
