The Xbox Elite Series 3, codenamed Edessa, appears in leaked Xbox Design Lab backend files with Hall effect and TMR thumbstick modules listed as selectable options alongside standard, loose, and tight tension variants. Advanced haptics via voice coil actuators are also referenced in motor configuration entries, paired with the existing impulse triggers, while additional entries point to an audio scroll wheel, metal faceplates, low-friction silent sticks, expanded paddle designs, and multiple D-pad choices. Four SKUs are noted in the records, split between base and complete packages with or without the full haptic motors.

These backend records were discovered by Reddit user esketitethan in the Spectrum Customizer system used by Xbox Design Lab and reported across multiple outlets including Digital Foundry and VGC, though the data was removed shortly after posting and its authenticity cannot be independently verified. Earlier leaks from a Brazilian regulator in May 2026 had shown prototype images with scroll wheels and other features, but this latest data provides the most detailed look yet at potential anti-drift stick technology and haptic upgrades.

Microsoft has made no official announcement, and pricing, exact release timing, or confirmation of any of the listed features remain unavailable. The Elite Series 2 launched in 2019 and received Design Lab support in 2022; any successor would represent the first major hardware revision in seven years.
