Xbox consoles are getting pricier starting August 1, 2026, with 512 GB models rising $100 and 1 TB variants climbing $150, while the 2 TB option vanishes entirely.
Microsoft attributes the adjustment to memory and storage costs that have already spiked more than 2.5 times since last October’s smaller increase, with another doubling projected by fall 2027. The company notes consoles are typically sold below cost, unlike other consumer electronics, and is offering certified refurbished units at up to $100 off plus trade-in programs with retail partners to ease the burden.
Series S remains positioned as the entry point for major titles including GTA VI and Halo: Campaign Evolved, though the broader trend points to sustained component pressures across the industry.
The move follows an earlier $20–$70 bump last year and arrives amid ongoing efforts to improve accessibility through previously played consoles.
