Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is dragging its corpse back from the grave with a sequel, and the original director Xia Siyuan bailed on Leenzee to found Indolphinity — yes, the Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company — so he can keep milking the IP under 505 Games and Digital Bros' fat wallets. The studio shakeup happened after Digital Bros bought the rights from Leenzee for around €4.6 million back in April, leaving Siyuan to strike out on his own instead of watching the franchise rot in corporate hands.

Siyuan's press release drips with the usual "deep collaboration" and "cultural authenticity" corporate lube, promising a new chapter "deeply rooted in the Eastern soil" while 505 handles the money and global push. The first game already racked up over 130,000 concurrent Steam players at launch and 5 million total across platforms despite the performance stink and that infamous patch 1.5 that turned bosses unkillable to appease Chinese audiences. Now the same team gets real budget and a fresh start, which means either a polished evolution or another patch-fest disaster.

505 co-CEO Raffi Galante is out here claiming they want to "safeguard and amplify the original creative vision" while keeping it Chinese — code for "we bought the rights cheap and we're not letting this cash cow wander off." Fans are already popping off on X with "LET'S GOOOOOO" energy, but the real question is whether Indolphinity's dolphin-branded reboot delivers or just feathers another bloated sequel. The IP lives, the studio died, and the sequel prep phase is already rolling. Burn the old studio, crown the new one.
