Blizzard's WoW: Forever beta just got its second population cap bump this week, with Holly Longdale straight-up tweeting that the wild ride continues after queues and login issues forced another expansion. The $59.99 Skyborne Epic Pack (or $79.99 Collection) is the paywall for guaranteed early access, and it's clearly moving units hard enough to overload even the dev team's expectations for a beta realm.
Longdale's admission lines up with Classic dev Josh Greenfield calling the turnout the craziest numbers he's seen in 17 years at Blizzard, including eight on Classic projects. The beta launched September 17 capped at level 20 (rising to 30 later), runs through October 21, and wipes all progress before the November 4 full release — yet players are still flooding in for the horizontal progression, new quests, dungeons, and Skyborne race test drive. PC Gamer noted the queues were already rammed earlier, and now the cap's been hiked twice while they fixed a queue bug that was trapping players after disconnects.
This isn't a standard beta stress test; it's proof the "Classic Plus" concept with permanent level 60 and fresh content in old Azeroth is hitting harder than the team planned for. Name reservations open October 27 for buyers, and the whole thing sits alongside retail and Classic as a permanent pillar. Blizzard's selling early looks at their nostalgia play, and the servers are saying the demand is very real.
