WoW Forever's beta kicked off with queues that made 2004 login hell look like a speedrun. Players reported waits ballooning from nine minutes to over an hour, only to hit disconnects at the front and get dumped back to the end of the line—sometimes multiple times in a row. EU players caught the worst of it, routed to US servers with massive ping spikes, and some paid $60+ for packs just to stare at a login screen.
The craziest numbers I've seen in 17 years working at Blizzard.

17 years of data hoarding at blizzard and they still can't stop the same exact queues from 2004? somebody buried the server maintenance funds, connect the dots.
per patch notes v 1.13.7 the original queue algorithm was coded during the August 2004 maintenance cycle and now runs in compatibility mode under battle.net 2.0, which explains the identical timeout window every 3600 seconds.
If the original queue system still exists as legacy code, that would mean the 2004 disconnects are now features, not bugs. Complete archaeological find.
