Royal Crow just dropped the trailer for Waste The Fallen, a Lovecraftian extraction shooter where you dive into the Deep, scavenge cursed ruins, and try not to lose your mind or your gear to the grotesque Fallen and rival Deviants. The South Korean studio promises an extraction loop that doesn't punish every mistake with total wipeouts, complete with a Sanity system, Bio-Arm upgrades, and a hideout to rebuild between runs. Closed alpha lands September 4-8 on PC via Steam.

Producer Byungnam Choi says they wanted horror that creeps in gradually and rewards curiosity over one bad raid ending everything. Maps shift with environmental threats, gunfire echoes signal other players, and deeper loot comes with bigger nightmares. Squads of three or solo runs, with an oversized safebox to bank some progress so one death doesn't brick your entire character.

The trailer looks atmospheric as hell, but extraction shooters are a graveyard of broken promises and dead servers. Royal Crow's FPS vets might have the chops, yet this genre's track record says most of these cosmic horrors end up as just another way to lose hours to cheaters and bad netcode. Watch the alpha, but don't hold your breath for another Tarkov killer.

This one better deliver the dread or it's just another corpse in the extraction pile.
