Blood Bowl 3.5 just dropped the beta rope and it actually lands punches instead of flailing like a drunk Ogre. Save-and-quit mid-match against the AI means you can finally bail when real life kicks in, no more 40-minute hostage situations before bed. Rumble Mode shrinks it to 7v7 on a smaller pitch with six turns per half and rerolls that cost double, turning every failed block into a faster turnover and giving fragile teams breathing room instead of getting murdered on turn one.
The rules update from the tabletop's third season is baked in too—stalling now gets rocks thrown by bored fans, Secure the Ball lets you pick it up on a 2+ at the cost of your activation, and passing lost the Wildly Inaccurate garbage. MVP selection is smarter, only your nominated players (four in Rumble) soak up those sweet Star Player Points instead of random benchwarmers eating them. AI feels marginally less brain-dead on the smaller pitch, even if it still occasionally does something suicidal like a Skink blocking a Mummy.
It's the same Blood Bowl at its core, just with enough QoL and tweaks to stop feeling like you're playing against the clock and the developer's bad decisions. Full release by end of year, public playtest starts October 7 on Steam. Owners of the old game get the free upgrade with everything carried over, which is the only way this relaunch doesn't piss off the entire league.
