Unity has offloaded its mobile publishing arm Supersonic to Tripledot Studios for $40 million in a cash deal that closed on August 4, continuing the engine maker's retreat from non-core assets after the ironSource merger's breakup.

Supersonic will operate as a standalone unit within the Tripledot Group, staying in Tel Aviv under its existing management led by CEO Igor Bereslavski, with no immediate changes to developer partnerships or day-to-day operations.

Unity's focus has shifted to its core engine business and the AI-powered Vector user-acquisition platform, following the earlier shutdown of the ironSource ad network, while Tripledot cites the acquisition as strengthening its position in the age of AI-driven mobile publishing and expanding access to Israeli talent.

The transaction values the publishing business far below the $4.4 billion all-stock merger that brought Supersonic into Unity in 2022, marking another incremental step in corporate simplification rather than a transformative shift.
