Leaked prototype footage from developer portfolios has exposed Ubisoft and TiMi Studio Group's cancelled Assassin's Creed Destiny, a PC and console project set in 206 BCE Qin Dynasty China that was quietly axed after the Tencent subsidiary's January 2025 restructuring. MP1st sourced the February 2025 build material showing a female assassin infiltrating a palace under siege by warlord Xiang Yu to seize a mysterious artifact, complete with stealth kills, parkour, Leap of Faith, and an early boss encounter against the historical figure. Distinctive UI elements like ink-brush ability icons and a yin-yang health bar also appeared in the clips.
The project was developed separately from the still-in-development mobile title Assassin's Creed Jade, which shares the broader Qin Dynasty setting but occurs nine years earlier in 215 BCE. TiMi led the effort in collaboration with Ubisoft, and the cancellation aligns with Tencent's documented 2024 pivot away from Western franchise partnerships toward higher-margin domestic projects, a shift that also saw TiMi Montreal closed earlier this year and other titles like codenamed Athena scrapped.
Neither Ubisoft nor Tencent has issued public comment on the leak or confirmed the project's existence. The footage, pulled from multiple developer portfolios rather than official channels, represents the first public look at what would have been the series' second major China-set entry after the 2015 2.5D spin-off Chronicles: China. Sources close to the matter suggest Destiny was cut early, before any formal announcement.
