Ubisoft has taken the somewhat predictable step of folding Creative House 2 under the Massive Entertainment brand, lumping together the Division, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell teams across studios in Malmö, Montréal, Paris, and Toronto. The move, announced September 30, brings no new game announcements or structural upheavals, just a shared name under general manager Christoph Hartmann, the former 2K and Amazon Games executive who stepped in earlier this year. Ubisoft notes that ongoing commitments for players and partners remain unchanged, while the unit will also handle new IP such as the MOBA March of Giants acquired from Amazon.

The rebrand follows Ubisoft’s broader Creative Houses reorganization, rolled out amid multiple rounds of layoffs and studio closures aimed at cutting roughly 180-200 million euros. Creative House 1 already operates as Vantage Studios covering Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six; Houses 3, 4, and 5 are still awaiting distinct identities. Hartmann stated the unified branding will “combine the creative energy and expertise across Montréal, Paris, Sweden and Toronto to shape the next generation of these iconic franchises.”

In practice the announcement amounts to a name change layered on top of an existing internal realignment, with the Snowdrop engine studio and its sister teams now sharing a single label. Ubisoft insists the move preserves the nearly three-decade legacy of the original Massive Entertainment while giving the Tom Clancy shooter lineup a clearer internal identity. Whether the branding shift translates into anything beyond updated email signatures and website footers is, at present, unconfirmed.
