CD Projekt RED's latest patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered hands console players the bloom toggle they have wanted since launch day. The 5.5GB console update and its heftier 8.5GB PC counterpart deliver exactly what the patch notes promise: a switch for Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, plus fixes for boats that refused to respect terrain, ladder animations that felt off, and a voice-over volume bug that had been plaguing pause menus.
The list of gameplay corrections reads like a quiet acknowledgment of community feedback rather than a grand overhaul. Geralt no longer collides with corpses after an Aard finisher, Vesemir stops repeating himself under Quen spam, and the Exploding Shield skill now reflects damage as intended. PC players also receive a slate of technical cleanups around DLSS presets, GPU selection, and Dynamic Resolution Scaling defaults that had been resetting or misbehaving.
CDPR is not finished yet. The patch notes mention ongoing work toward closer parity for the Switch 2 version, with the next substantial content drop slated for next year in the form of Songs of the Past. For now, the studio has answered the most immediate visual complaint without fanfare or defensive framing.
The predictable result is that console screenshots will look less like an overexposed memory of Velen, and players who prefer their White Wolf with sharper contrast finally have the option they requested on day one.
