Tetris Effect is getting the mixed reality treatment next year, and the same crew that nailed the original—Monstars and Resonair under Enhance—is back to make your living room the board. Tetris Effect: Mixed Realities lands in 2027 on Meta Quest 3, Quest 3S, and the brand-new $1,299 Meta VR Glasses that look like sunglasses with a puck for brains. The pitch is pure Mizuguchi: your space turns into a deep-sea aquarium or orbital station while you stack Tetriminos that open dimensional gateways, all powered by hand tracking or controllers.
The announcement dropped at Meta Connect 2026 and immediately lit up the feeds. Enhance posted the reveal with the official description promising a "mind-blowing reinvention" that blurs real and virtual through music-synced environments. UploadVR and Gematsu both broke the story with the same details—no new gameplay footage yet, but the vision is clear: full room-scale MR instead of another pass-through gimmick.
This isn't a remaster or a quick port. The original Tetris Effect already proved the team can make stacking blocks feel like a religious experience across PSVR, Quest, and Connected multiplayer. Now they're betting MR hardware can carry a full game instead of a 10-minute demo. If it lands, it could be the moment mixed reality stops being a novelty and starts being the main event.
