Take-Two Interactive has undertaken a reorganization of its artificial intelligence division, resulting in the departure of Head of AI Luke Dicken along with an undisclosed number of team members.
Mr. Dicken, who assumed the role in early 2025 following a decade at Zynga—acquired by Take-Two for $12.7 billion in 2022—announced the change on LinkedIn, stating, “It’s truly disappointing that I have to share with you that my time with T2 – and that of my team – has come to an end.” He noted seven years of work on technologies to support game development workflows.
This adjustment arrives as CEO Strauss Zelnick emphasized during a recent investor call that the company is “actively embracing generative AI,” with “hundreds of pilots and implementations across our company, including with our studios,” aimed at driving efficiencies and reducing costs on mundane tasks. President Karl Slatoff added last month that tools like Google’s Genie remain far from game engine capabilities.
Take-Two declined to comment on the matter, while initial reactions on X highlight the reshuffle without broader outrage. Such internal realignments continue to reflect measured responses to technological integration in the publishing sector.
