Valve just yeeted the manual calendar for Steam’s Discounts & Events tab, swapping it for full algorithm mode starting early 2027. The old system capped everything at a handful of curated Daily/Midweek/Weekend Deal slots—now the algo will surface 10x more games per day based on what you actually play and wishlist.
Testing already showed big jumps in store page visits, wishlists, and cart adds, plus niche indies suddenly pulling thousands of referrals from the section instead of near-zero before. Hooded Horse’s Tim Bender straight-up called it the best traffic source in the store for smaller titles. Devs get new tools to manage discounts without begging Valve for calendar spots, and existing scheduled promos still run until the switch flips.
Expect every player’s homepage to look completely different—personalized chaos instead of one-size-fits-all sales. No dynamic pricing, just smarter discovery, and Valve’s already paused new manual bookings while they tune the system. Early 2027 rollout, details dropping soon.
