Sumo Digital’s tiny robot spider is finally getting the full console treatment, and now the Switch 2 is joining the party. Spyder: Agent 8 launches February 11, 2027 across PS5, Xbox Series, Switch family, and PC via Steam and Epic, with PQube publishing and the BAFTA-winning studio handling development. It’s the console port of the 2020 Apple Arcade original, expanded with a new Switch 2 version announced this week.

The pitch is pure chaotic cuteness: you’re Agent 8, a palm-sized robotic superspy crawling walls, ceilings, and vents with sticky sucker feet while gadgeting your way through retro-futuristic 1970s spy missions. Rescue astronauts, sabotage submarines, stop trains — all while hiding from cameras and solving environmental puzzles. A Steam demo dropped back in June 2026, and physical PS5 copies are also in the works.

Early buzz on X and YouTube comments is mostly “this looks adorable” mixed with “wasn’t this on iPhone?” type nostalgia. No massive hype wave yet, but the family-friendly stealth-puzzle angle from a studio that made LittleBigPlanet 3 and Sackboy gives it a solid foundation for the “hidden gem” crowd. Switch 2 portability could be the real multiplier here.

Gematsu broke the updated launch date, and the official announcement trailer plus Steam page confirm the multiplat scope.
