Nintendo just dropped fresh details on Splatoon Raiders, and yeah, it's the single-player Splatoon spin-off we've been begging for — you strap into mechanic boots, team up with Deep Cut, and blast Salmonids across mysterious islands using stubby little mechs and gadget loot.

The protagonist's a customizable Inkling or Octoling mechanic who crash-lands with the idols on Spirhalite Islands, turning the usual Salmon Run chaos into an adventure full of treasure hunting, weapon upgrades, and co-op raids where one Deep Cut member hops in the Exploration Bot to back you up. Returning Salmonids mix with new variants, and you loot relics and parts to kit out your stubby mechs for bigger fights.

Community's already buzzing on X with hype for Frye, Shiver, and Big Man getting more spotlight, plus speculation this could be the deeper single-player campaign Splatoon 3 deserved. Release hits Switch 2 on July 23, so mark it — this one's got that Salmon Run energy cranked up for solo or small crew play.

If it nails the gadgets and island exploration without the usual live-service bloat, it might just be the Switch 2 sleeper that actually delivers.
