Rockstar Games issued a statement reiterating its position that the October 2025 dismissals stemmed from gross misconduct involving the sharing of confidential company information on an IWGB Discord server, not union activity. The company stated it "reject[s] the claims and will defend them vigorously before the tribunal," with the five-week hearing scheduled to run until mid-October, overlapping the final weeks before GTA 6's November 19 release.

Former employee Rachel Crawford addressed the rally, describing the workplace environment of fear that allegedly silenced colleagues and left her replaying the sudden firing without warning or clear explanation. The IWGB seeks reinstatement, compensation, or a ruling that the dismissals were unfair, potentially setting a precedent for union recognition at the studio.

This case follows an earlier rejection of interim relief for the workers and has drawn parliamentary attention, including comments from former Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
