A YouTuber named Emathiio decided the Roblox Developers Conference keynote was the perfect time to sprint on stage in a "Kids Deserve Better" shirt and yell "we deserve better" at CEO David Baszucki. Security tackled him before he could finish the thought, and the man got escorted out while the CEO cracked a joke about people getting excited for RDC. Classic.
Emathiio later posted he was trying to speak for kids who never get a mic at these corporate love-ins. Roblox is currently under U.S. Senate investigation for child safety failures, fighting a wrongful death lawsuit where they're arguing a dead 13-year-old waived her rights by clicking agree at age 8, and Baszucki has previously sounded real casual about the whole thing in interviews. Meanwhile the company spent the rest of the event hyping "Roblox Everywhere" — standalone apps for mobile, PC, and console so creators can push their games outside the main app. Because nothing says "we fixed the house" like building a bigger porch.
The stunt didn't stop the announcements or the applause. Baszucki just smiled through it and moved on to browser play and AI tools while the real issues stayed backstage. Emathiio got the boot, the message got the spotlight for ten seconds, and Roblox keeps selling the vision that more platforms will magically fix what's broken on the one they already have.
