RE Requiem Mercenaries drops early May, and it's time to sharpen those tomahawks for some proper zombie skull-fragging, you third-person copers.

Capcom's dropping this free post-story update right after Japan's Golden Week (ends May 5), with director Akifumi Nakanishi hyping it as the mini-game fix for main story finishers still jonesing for more chaos. "Sharpen your tomahawk and wait," he says in Famitsu – expect timer-based horde rushes with Leon's hatchet action and high-score grinds like RE4/5 classics, all unlocked after you beat the 8-hour campaign.

Players been maldng since launch over no Mercs at day one, flooding Steam forums and Reddit with demands while PC modders kludged together proxies to tide 'em over. X lit up weeks ago with datamined Mercs tracks fueling the fire, fans calling it "gonna go so fucking hard." Capcom listened – no more excuses for that subpar KD.

Streamers, this is your S-rank clip farm: first-person purists vs zombie swarms, no babysitter third-person crutch for the weak. Director even admitted the view switch is for RE7 FP dropouts – real ones stayed locked in. Grind Golden Week or get left in the dust, scrubs.
