Sony is rolling out a beta widget to the PS5 Welcome Hub that displays regional weekly player counts for the top games, along with a trending section for sudden spikes in activity. The data is pulled straight from PlayStation's own metrics, giving users a direct look at numbers like Fortnite's 14.6 million weekly players in the US or Call of Duty's 4.95 million.

The Top 10 mode locks in the usual live-service suspects with minimal rotation, while Trending Now highlights percentage jumps such as Overwatch 2's 255% surge. It's region-specific only, so no global picture, and the whole thing remains limited to beta testers for now.

This marks the first time PlayStation has publicly shared concrete weekly figures on the console itself, moving away from vague popularity labels. The change arrives as part of ongoing Welcome Hub refinements, with no firm timeline for wider rollout.
