The console climb is on. Peak, the co-op survival climbing hit from Aggro Crab and Landfall's Team Peak collab, hits PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on October 22 with full crossplay and every update since its June 2025 PC launch. That includes the Gloom and Citadel biomes, custom runs where you can literally kick your squad off ledges, and proximity chat that turns every session into pure voice-chat chaos.
The game started as a one-month game jam in Seoul back in February 2025 — three Aggro Crab devs and four from Landfall locked in an apartment fueled by Korean BBQ and coffee after bonding at a 2022 dev conference and riding high off Another Crab’s Treasure and Content Warning success. The premise is simple and brutal: lost nature scouts stranded on a mystery island have to scale the central mountain through four hazard-filled biomes before hunger, fog, or tornadoes (yes, zombies too) end the run. Solo or up to four players, manage stamina and injuries, scavenge questionable food, place ropes, and never abandon a friend — or the mountain will make you regret it. The map rotates every 24 hours for fresh daily seeds.
Community buzz on Steam and X shows it's already a viral "friendslop" phenomenon with over 11 million copies moved and "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews, spreading through Discords and streams faster than a bad rope placement sends you tumbling. Console players finally get in without FOMO, and the physical PS5 edition drops December 9 via Skybound at $19.99 with a disc, Scout Passport kit, and a buddy code so you can drag a friend along. Crossplay means PC squads can rope in console mates immediately. The mountain doesn't care about your platform — only if your crew sticks together.
