Nomori lands on Steam, Microsoft Store, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One September 23 for $19.99, and the indie puzzle scene just got a whole new gravity-bending toy to mess with.
Enchanted Works, the tiny Dutch studio behind it, started this as a 2020 university project called Yokai before turning it into a full Ghibli-flavored spirit world adventure. You play as Kiko, a girl who wanders into a shattered realm full of eccentric spirits, where rotating portals flip gravity, time flow slows or speeds objects, and backtracking with new powers reveals hidden paths across four seasonal zones.
A free Nomori: Prologue demo dropped back in 2022 and racked up Very Positive reviews on Steam for its 18 mind-bending levels. The full game promises around 42 levels after playtesting cuts, plus cozy characters and a story about confidence and restoring the spirit realm. Xbox Wire already called the GDC demo charming and challenging, and recent trailers have the community hyped for the cozy-yet-tricky vibe.
This one's got the "goated indie" energy written all over it — small team, big ideas, no corporate slop. Can't wait to see the clips.
