Noctua just dropped the receipts on their custom torture rigs for the NF-A4x10 fan inside the new Pulsar Feinmann F01 Noctua Edition mouse, and wow, these setups look like they came straight out of a mad scientist's lab. The horizontal rig uses a scotch-yoke mechanism to slam fans sideways at up to 30 movements per second and 20g forces for hundreds of thousands of cycles, while the vertical drop test yanks them up and lets them smash down repeatedly to mimic rage-quit table slams. Their own blog confirms the fans survived 280k horizontal cycles (one failed from a loose cable, not the bearing) and 20k drops before impellers started popping in the vertical test—after the foam padding literally shattered and forces went way beyond 20g.
