Moon Studios has pushed the 1.0 release of No Rest for the Wicked from October 2026 to March 2027, citing the need for additional polish on performance and the class system despite the game already sitting at two million copies sold in early access since April 2024.
The small Vienna-based team behind Ori is explicit about its reasoning: the title is close but not close enough, and they refuse to ship with lingering bugs or unfinished systems after prototypes dating back to 2016. CEO Thomas Mahler framed it as wanting to "land this plane safely" and deliver something generational rather than settling for adequate.
Early buyers still get the Founders Pack rewards through January 1, 2027, with an open beta planned for December to let the community help shape the final build ahead of the new window. Platforms include PC and PS5 at launch, with Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 versions to follow later.
The delay lands the game well after Grand Theft Auto 6's expected November 2026 arrival, but Moon's statement makes clear the priority is internal standards over external calendars.
