Hello Games just dropped another round of Swarm Expedition patches with version 6.44 hitting today, and it's the same old story: more bugs squashed while the core chaos keeps churning. Pirates now behave during the expedition instead of ambushing players in space, the number of swarmers in deep space got cranked up, and the Hive of Glass finally shows its laser charging effects without glitching into a freighter icon on the compass. Duplicate objectives, weapon mode resets, and VR intro jank all got the axe too, plus some general multiplayer and crash fixes thrown in for good measure.
This is Hello Games doing what they do best after the Swarm update launched late last month — patching the live service mess on the fly while the expedition runs its eight-week gauntlet. The previous 6.43 hotfix tackled similar expedition gripes just days ago, proving the studio's still throwing resources at Expedition 22 instead of letting it rot like lesser live games. Swarmers and that big glass hive boss are the new hotness, but the fixes make clear the launch had the usual launch warts.
Keep patching, Hello. The universe isn't going to fix itself, and neither are the players stuck dealing with this shit. At least they're still shipping updates instead of abandoning ship.
