Darlings, Netflix just proved that a 27-minute GTA 6 tease can out-seduce an entire slate of actual movies. The Rockstar x Netflix hookup racked up 31.1 million views in four days flat, claiming the top spot in 87 of the 93 countries they track and leaving The Whisper Man crying in second with 23.2 million.
Even with only a six-hour exclusivity window before the YouTube drop, the platform still pulled a 35% hour-over-hour mobile spike and a 24% jump in app downloads on launch day. Rockstar approached Netflix, not the other way around, turning this into a first-of-its-kind marketing flex that crashed the service for a hot minute.
The 27-minute in-engine showcase—captured entirely on PS5—gave the world its deepest look yet at Jason and Lucia’s Vice City descent, and the numbers show the hype machine is running hotter than ever ahead of the November 19 launch. YouTube’s Rockstar channel has since pulled another 17 million views on its own, but different counting rules make direct apples-to-apples a tease.
This wasn’t just views—it was proof the franchise still owns the cultural conversation, no subscription required to feel the pull.
