MW4's early access beta just got its first patch and Infinity Ward is already dialing back the noise and the laser beams after players bitched about footsteps echoing like church bells and guns dropping people faster than a bad connection.

Cachette drops as the new compact 6v6 map set around a French rail terminal with flanking routes and second-story plays, while Inflation mode turns kills into literal cash grabs where the richest become glowing HVTs for everyone to hunt. Footstep volume and range got nerfed hard, some guns had their lethality toned down, and map voting finally unlocked once they hit the four-map threshold.

The beta's still cooking until the 25th with an open one right after, and Infinity Ward's promising more tweaks based on the feedback pouring in. Your KD is ass if you're still getting jumped because you couldn't hear shit—fix it or wait for the next hotfix.
