NetEase just lobotomized Jubilee's fireworks display and a laundry list of Team-Up VFX in the July 16 patch because players were straight-up getting eye cancer in every teamfight. The official notes call it a "Combat Clarity Upgrade," dialing back the blinding glow on all of Jubilee's base abilities plus dozens of new Team-Up effects so the battlefield doesn't look like a Jackson Pollock on bath salts. PC Gamer's old-man brain is already celebrating the fact that one Jubilee teammate no longer triggers an instant migraine.

This isn't some random QoL sprinkle — Season 9 dropped Jubilee and the entire reworked Team-Up system on July 10, and the visual spam apparently turned recent Steam reviews Mixed while folks complained about nausea and frame drops. The patch hits July 16 with zero downtime, and the dev list is exhaustive: everything from Mr. & Mrs. X to Hex Fireworks got the dimmer switch. They straight-up admitted the list is too long to print and promised ongoing scans because, surprise, adding a million heroes with glowing bullshit creates chaos.

NetEase is pretending this fixes the problem while every new skin and ult still throws confetti in your face, but at least the baseline pain level dropped. The real question is how long until the next hero makes the screen look like a Vegas strip again. Your eyes have been warned.
