HandyGames has rebranded to THQ Nordic Mobile, effective August 7, 2026, to serve as the dedicated publishing arm for adapting premium PC and console IPs to mobile platforms. The German outfit, acquired by THQ Nordic in 2018, will now focus exclusively on streamlining ports of major titles from the parent company's portfolio. Internal development operations in Giebelstadt remain under the HandyGames Studios name for original projects and technical support.

CEO Christopher Kassulke noted the bureaucratic relief of the name change after 26 years, stating that the new identity clarifies the company's role within THQ Nordic GmbH and its core mobile focus. Co-founders Christopher and Markus Kassulke continue leading both publishing and development. The transition maintains existing pipelines without disruption.

THQ Nordic announced the shift alongside its own site and related coverage, positioning the rebrand as a way to accelerate high-end mobile adaptations of established franchises. Early community mentions on X reflect routine industry consolidation rather than significant reaction.
