Gran Turismo 7’s free Spec IV Part 1 update just hit consoles, dropping the long-awaited Sportsland Sugo circuit alongside six new cars and a fresh batch of World Circuits events. Sugo makes its GT series debut as a 3,586m Japanese layout with 13 corners and 69.83m of elevation change, highlighted by a brutal uphill final corner that feeds onto a 704.5m straight. Players now have three dedicated races there — European Sunday Cup 400, World Touring Car 600, and World Touring Car 800 — plus a new Circuit Experience featuring the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT500.
The car drop mixes hypercar future-tech with nostalgia: Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, Ferrari F355 Berlinetta ’94, Honda Civic Si Group A ’87, Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo ’26, Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23, and Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston ’86. New features include Car Viewer upgrades, Experience mode, additional Scapes locations, and a Collector Level cap raise to 90. Sony also revealed the Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense, a carbon-fiber-styled 30th-anniversary controller priced at $84.99, with pre-orders opening October 22 and launch December 10.
Community chatter on X is already hyped about the new track and opening cinematic, though some competitive drivers are eyeing how the RX-Vision GT3 Evo slots into existing Gr.3 fields. The update went live around 11pm PT October 14 / 3pm JST October 15, and Part 2 is slated for December with Autumn Ring and more modes.
