Gibson and The Coalition just dropped a limited run of hand-painted Les Paul and SG guitars celebrating Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago ahead of Gears of War: E-Day. Four one-of-a-kind pieces total, three up for grabs in an Instagram sweepstakes ending October 9, with winners picked October 16. Artist Luke Preece handled the brutality and pathos motifs — chainsaw skulls on the Les Pauls for Marcus, barbed wire and poppies on the SG for Dom — because nothing says brotherhood like premium wood and Locust blood splatter.

Composer Adam Lastiwka actually tracked the game’s soundtrack with real Gibson guitars, which is the only part of this that doesn’t feel like pure marketing theater. The guitars go on display at the Xbox booth during Gamescom, then three lucky fans who tag their E-Day squad with #GearsofWarGibsonSweepstakes might walk away with signed, numbered relics. The rest of us get to watch from the cheap seats while the launch hype machine grinds on.

This isn’t about music or even Gears nostalgia — it’s another shiny collectible to dangle in front of the faithful before Emergence Day hits October 6 on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, and Game Pass. Hand-painted uniqueness is cool until you realize only four exist and the rest of the merch pipeline is already printing money.
