Snapshot Games is finally pulling Frosthaven out of Early Access on October 15, delivering the complete story campaign and the full roster of 17 heroes to Steam and Epic Games Store. After nearly a year of community-driven patches since the July 31, 2025 launch, the tactical RPG adaptation of Isaac Childres' board game has evolved from a work-in-progress into something the devs claim respects the tabletop roots while smoothing the onboarding curve.
The version 1.0 build adds a digital-only Road to Frosthaven introduction, house rules customization, an opening cinematic, hero unlock videos, and a fully implemented Codex—no more scribbling notes on campaign sheets. Co-op systems and networking get meaningful upgrades too, which matters for a title built around party-based dungeon crawling and scenario branching.
Cephalofair Games CEO Isaac Childres praised the digital version for staying true to the board game while improving accessibility. Snapshot's own CEO Julian Gollop called the project ambitious, citing the intricate systems and knowledgeable fanbase they had to satisfy. Game director Hristo Petkov highlighted player feedback as the driving force behind the polish.
This marks the end of a deliberate Early Access run that included multiple major content drops, proving Snapshot can iterate without the usual live-service bloat. The question now is whether the full campaign and expanded roster will convert the board game faithful or just remind everyone why physical components still hit different.
