Naoki Hamaguchi just dropped the numbers: Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is looking at roughly 200GB once the dust settles. That's double the size of Rebirth's 145GB on PS5 and even bigger than its 169GB Xbox footprint, which explains why Square Enix won't ship the full thing on disc or even two discs like the last game. The director told VGC the team refuses to compromise quality for physical limits, so physical buyers get a download key instead.
Hamaguchi also confirmed two story DLCs post-launch modeled after Intermission, one digging into Vincent and the other Sephiroth. He wouldn't say if they hit the past or present timeline, but the main game is supposed to wrap the trilogy without needing them. Rebirth already ate serious storage across platforms; Revelation is about to clear out entire SSDs on launch day April 8, 2027.
Whales and collectors already clearing space. Hamaguchi says they are working to overcome the hardware, not the other way around.
