Famitsu charts for the two-week stretch from April 27 to May 10 show Switch 2 moving a fat 214,438 units while the whole Switch family barely scrapes together 40k more. Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream keeps topping software with another 300k physical copies, and even Switch 2 exclusives like Pokemon Pokopia are still scraping 50k in a dead period.

Japanese gamers are clearly holding out for the real Switch 2 hype machine to kick in next month, leaving PS5 and Xbox looking like afterthoughts with single-digit hardware moves. PRAGMATA and a couple of Switch ports are the only non-Nintendo blips on the radar, but nothing's shifting the needle like the new hardware.

The numbers don't lie — Switch 2 is eating Japan's console market alive while everyone else waits for the next Direct or price drop. Golden Week sales or not, the gap is turning into a canyon.
