Summer Eternal's Red Rooster arrives as an "incendiary RPG" born from the ashes of ZA/UM's fractures, and the ex-Dev team is explicit: this is no Disco Elysium successor. The 500-page Summer Eternal Anthology that doubles as announcement vehicle makes the point upfront, framing the project as a physics-driven hybrid that marries cerebral worldbuilding with immersive sim mechanics in a fractal border archipelago called Arta-Tantor. Players take the role of Redrick Roost, a white-collar inmate turned arson investigator paired with an opiate-dependent mathematician, chasing fires that loop back to his fire chief brother in a city of three parts. The tagline lands without hedging: "Fight fires to get to the truth of your world. Start fires to get to the truth about yourself."

The studio, anchored by writer Argo Tuulik and Dora Klindžić among others, plus narrator Lenval Brown, is building in Unreal Engine for full object physics and dynamic 3D camera freedom rather than isometric stasis. Influences range from Half-Life: Alyx and Planescape: Torment to Exanima and Arcanum, with non-game touchstones including Ted Chiang and John Steinbeck. Internal tech demo exists and pre-production is nearing completion, with an eye on double-A scope modeled after Expedition 33's compact team. The 250-page development section of the anthology doubles as the deep-dive launch vehicle, complete with diaries, art, and original tracks from Nemeček and Corvad.

The funding model is the real provocation. Buyers of the €69 standard or €99 Deluxe Firestarter edition join the Summer Eternal Players Non-Profit, which owns 5% of the studio and votes on governance while directing 5% of future profits. This is worker- and player-owned from the ground up, a deliberate structural rejection of the management disputes that tore through ZA/UM. The reveal lands today alongside the book's global shipping window, a synchronous drop engineered to keep the announcement from fragmenting across time zones.
