Blizzard just took a massive shit on their own broken ass game with Diablo IV's panic patch 2.0.6 yesterday, nerfing that horseshit Reprisal Monster Affix that was reflecting Holy damage like a goddamn nuke straight up your ass – way more than intended. Now it's a 'visually distinct lobbed projectile,' because apparently players were too stupid to dodge invisible death beams. Console peasants rejoice: no more getting your movement fucked after recasting Fortress or fumbling Mercenary passives with the D-Pad. This dumpster fire hotfix drops right before Lord of Hatred DLC unleashes Mephisto's mayhem today, because nothing says 'stable launch' like last-second bandaids.
But wait, there's more idiocy fixed: Shielded monsters look less like invisible pricks now, Tower loot got juiced and renamed to Artificer's Tower like that fixes the grind, and every goddamn gem in weapons now pumps multiplicative damage – Amethyst shadows your DoT ass, Ruby fire/holy overloads, the works. Quests unbugged, Belial finally drops XP instead of blue-balling you, Nightmare Dungeons spit Obducite properly. Blizzard's admitting their whole endgame was a joke with these gem reworks turning forgotten trash into powerhouses.
X is already a warzone with players raging about disconnects and level-locked skill trees in the DLC spawn – 'hot garbage' they call it, and launch day's barely here. MP1st hypes it as cementing Diablo's identity with bold classes, but if history's any lesson, Mephisto's just gonna spawn another season of cope and server meltdowns. Patch or not, Blizzard's still serving reheated hell – pray the nerfs stick before the real hatred boils over.
