Demon's Souls Remake is pushing past Sony's 60 fps ceiling on PC hardware that didn't exist when the game launched. An unofficial KytyPS5 fork from developer chenxiao07, version v20261017, is running the Bluepoint remake at over 60 fps native at 1440p on an RTX 5070 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D rig, with 2x DLSS frame generation pushing displayed framerates near 120 fps at 1080p. The same hardware shows the game occasionally cresting 70 fps when locked to PS5 performance settings, but frame generation unlocks the real headroom.
The emulator still carries visible hitching and lacks DLSS Super Resolution support, so native rendering stays capped at 1440p. Progress has been rapid: weeks ago the title struggled below 5 fps even on higher-end RTX 5090 systems, and earlier milestones included 30 fps in September and 40-50 fps shortly after. YouTuber Geralt Benchmarks documented the current results, and community posts on X are circulating the footage with the expected mix of excitement and caveats about stability.
Sony keeps the remake locked to its console at a consistent but capped 60 fps in performance mode. Emulation bypassing that limit on current PC silicon is the kind of development that makes exclusive walls look increasingly porous.
