Whales are already circling the May 28 drop of Console Archives Geki-Oh ShienRyu on PS5 and Switch 2, a straight port of Warashi's 1999 PS1 vertical shooter that Hamster is bringing back for the low price of $11.99. Originally a home console take on the 1997 arcade Shienryu, it throws you into wave after wave of enemy forces and giant war machines with that classic shoot-and-dodge loop.

Hamster's Console Archives line keeps adding modern crutches like savestates, button remapping, screen filters, and rewind to help old-school titles survive on new hardware without the original frustration. This one also supports 1-2 players, which matters for the co-op crowd that remembers the PS1 version fondly.

Hamster just snapped up the full Warashi catalog too, so expect more of these buried shmups to surface soon while the F2P plebs chase the latest banner. At least this one won't drain your wallet on every pull.
