L + ratio + UE5 features straight up ghosting the Switch 2, fam. Sandfall just dropped the tea in a fresh interview: their breakout RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is eyeing a Switch 2 port, but the hardware can't handle the full Unreal Engine 5 stack they built the beauty on. CTO Tom Guillermin straight-up called it a "big technical challenge" because the Switch 2 ain't stacking up to PS5 or Series X power, and the studio's only ~30 people strong.
Lead character artist Alan Reynaud pointed out that straight-up UE5 bells and whistles like Lumen just don't run on the console, though Epic's dropping Lumen Lite updates that might help eventually. CEO Guillaume Broche kept it real: they're interested but "too early" to announce anything. The game already cooked 1 million copies in three days on the other platforms, so the demand is there, but this port's looking like a whole saga.
Fans on X are already memeing the delay energy while Nintendo Everything and Eurogamer are pushing the coverage. Switch 2 owners might be waiting a hot minute, or watching the team cook something scaled down that still slaps. Either way, the indie darling isn't making it easy on itself.
