Capcom president and COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto has attributed the publisher's recent run of hits to a deliberate pivot away from creator-centric development toward structured team processes.
Speaking in a Famitsu interview timed to the company's 43rd anniversary, Tsujimoto described how older franchises once hinged on individual visionaries, risking stalls if key personnel departed. The shift involved rebuilding titles from the ground up with collective input, a change Tsujimoto said management accepted despite potential short-term sales dips.
This approach now supports continuity across Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter entries, with institutional knowledge transferred between teams. Tsujimoto pointed to the April 2026 release of new IP Pragmata as a direct outcome of the model.
Capcom has posted record profits for nine straight years, with strong catalogue sales and digital performance underscoring the operational results.
