Build a Rocket Boy appears to be winding down operations following another round of redundancies at the MindsEye developer.
Multiple staff members posted farewell messages on LinkedIn over the past day, including principal talent acquisition partner Dan Hawkins, who noted he had been with the studio for nearly five years, growing it from around 200 to 550 employees before helping wrap things up in HR.
Kotaku reported that sources familiar with the situation confirmed the studio is permanently closing its doors, while the company has yet to issue any public statement on the matter.
This marks the latest chapter in a troubled run that included a poorly received June 2025 launch, publisher departure, union actions, and prior waves of layoffs totaling hundreds of positions.
