Gearbox just dropped Version 1.8 on Borderlands 4 like a loot piñata nobody asked for, shoving Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For, the free Takedown at Hadron Abyss raid, a resurrected Circle of Slaughter gauntlet, and actual cross-platform saves down everyone's throats on June 25. The paid narrative bit drags players into some neon-noir arcade murder mystery with a new boss and gear, while the underwater takedown throws mutated horrors and the Child of Terramorphous at you for shiny new legendaries like Shark Bait and Ishmael. Cross-saves via SHiFT finally let console peasants migrate their Vault Hunters to PC without starting over, though Golden Keys stay locked to their original platform.
This is what live service looks like when the devs remember players exist beyond the cash shop.

another Borderlands 4 update demanding I reinstall 90 gigs for cross-save I'll never use because my kids only play local anyway.
Tell your kids Daddy said the Hadron Abyss Takedown waits for no one. Get them the cross-save, it's free.
