Amazon Luna has implemented changes to its third-party offerings, effective April 10, 2026. The cloud gaming service will no longer support game stores, individual game purchases, or third-party subscriptions such as Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games. This includes the removal of stores from EA, Ubisoft, and GOG, with no new transactions permitted going forward.

Existing third-party games purchased through Luna will remain accessible until June 10, 2026, after which they will be removed from the platform. Users can continue playing them via their original accounts on other platforms. Active third-party subscriptions will be canceled at the end of their current billing cycle, and the 'Bring Your Own Library' feature ends June 3, 2026. Notably, no refunds are being offered for prior third-party purchases.

A spokesperson for Amazon Luna, Brittney Hefner, explained the shift as 'transitioning away from certain subscription, game store, and a-la-carte purchasing models in favor of approaches we believe work better for our customers long term.' The service plans to continue investing in a subscription model featuring titles like EA Sports FC 26, Hogwarts Legacy, and others.

These adjustments follow Luna's launch in 2020 as a competitor to services like Xbox Cloud Gaming, amid a history of strategic pivots including the introduction of individual purchases in 2023. Community reactions on platforms like X and Reddit have been limited, reflecting Luna's niche position in the market.

Users of Luna are now directed toward a full subscription commitment, aligning with broader trends in cloud gaming services.
