IO Interactive has once again pushed back the Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light, this time to March 2027, citing the need for additional polishing of the port's performance.

The James Bond origin story first launched on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC back on May 27, 2026. An earlier delay had already moved the Switch 2 edition from a simultaneous launch to a summer 2026 window, and now the latest slip lands it nearly ten months after the other platforms.

IO Interactive's statement notes positive feedback from the Gamescom demo and confirms the same hands-on experience will appear at Tokyo Game Show this week, while emphasizing that the extra time will focus specifically on Nintendo Switch 2 performance optimization.

The repeated delays highlight the challenges of porting to Nintendo's new hardware, with the studio previously describing the Glacier engine adaptation as 'quite easy' before timelines slipped multiple times.
